This stunning ring features a translucent Aquamarine set in fine silver setting with 22k gold accent rectangles at its base. The silver has been oxidized to created a gun-metal grey finish that makes the gold pop. This truly unique setting is created using an ancient Korean fusing technique  called Keum-boo. It is placed on a wide 14k gold-fill band with a hammered texture, measuring ~ 6 mm wide.

Keum-boo is an ancient Korean gilding technique used to apply thin sheets of high karat gold to fine silver. The gold foil is applied with heat and pressure—mechanical gilding—to produce a permanent diffusion bond.

I try to use every bit of metal on my bench and not let anything go to waste. In this way, all my pieces are somehow related - melted, remelted, cut, recut, weaving together so many stories being told through the jewelry.
