This uniquely beautiful ring features a truly rare dendritic Montana Agate stone that resembles lichen growing up from the earth. Montana Agate of this quality is extremely rare. It's setting is equally unique - set in sterling silver with a solid 18k gold accent bead and placed on a 14k gold-fill wrap band, made from a single piece of half-found wire wrapped around three times and soldered in place to the base plate of the stone setting.
The band measures ~8 mm at its widest point and has a hammered bark-like lined texture.
Size 8.25 (can be stretched up to 1 size larger)

Formed in the Pleistoncene era, Montana agate is a type of chalcedony found in the alluvial deposits (i.e., river gravels) of the Yellowstone River. They have toppled down from ancient mountainsides that were formed 160 million years ago that were then carried and tumbled by rivers. This agate would probably be better named Yellowstone Agate, because it is only found in the Yellowstone Park area. The tremendous volcanic activity that produced the conditions necessary for the formation of this agate spanned hundreds of miles and millions of years. Montana agates are earthy and powerful, helping to balance our emotions and keep our feet connection to the earth.
